Template Installation
Only needed if you have an existing live Squarespace website, viewable to the public, that you would like to keep instead of starting a brand new website.
WHY DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A TEMPLATE INSTALLATION?
Templates are installed as a completely new site on your Squarespace account.
This means that you wont be able to use your current live website with the template & you won’t be able to transfer any of your content across to your new site easily.
When you purchase a ‘Template Installation’ - I go into the back end of your current website and manually built out the template there.
Which means you get a new website & skip the hassle.
What You Need To Know:
After purchase, you’ll add me as a contributor on your existing website. I’ll then go into the backend of your website and built out the new template by hand so you can keep your existing account.
As the installation most likely involves changing your Squarespace template and design settings, I put up an 'Under Construction' page first before I do any work. I then move all of your existing pages into the 'unlinked' section for safekeeping and build out the purchased template pages on your site.
INCLUDED:
Adding an ‘Under Construction’ page to your website so visitors are aware it’s in progress.
Moving all of your existing pages into the ‘unlinked’ section so that you can keep all of your content.
Adding the purchased template on your website.
NOT INCLUDED:
The template. You need to purchase a template first before you can add a ‘Template Installation’.
Adding any of your content, linking social accounts, migrating from another website platform, changing domain etc. Installations are limited to building out the template only. I do not transfer any of your content into the template.
Any customisations or additions to the template.
Please Note:
Squarespace 7.0 and Squarespace 7.1 templates aren’t interchangeable. If you have an existing Squarespace 7.0 website you want to keep but want to purchase a Squarespace 7.1 website template - it’s not possible. You will need to pick a 7.0 template. And vice versa if you have an existing Squarespace 7.1 website.
You’ll need to give me full access to your Squarespace account so that I can access the backend of your website and make the changes. I give you detailed instructions on how to do this once you’ve purchased the Template Installation.
Your website will temporarily be unavailable to website visitors while I add the template. These changes often include changing the base template and design changes that affect the whole website - that’s why I install an ‘Under Construction’ page on your website. Your installation will be complete within 48 hours of the "Under Construction" page going up, but you may want to keep the ‘Under Construction’ page up while you customise your new template as well.
